Red Orchestra (and Rising Storm) has an RCON web panel which is hosted from your install as long as you have an extra port open for it.
Chivalry has one of the best server browsers with its color coding (brown highlight for mods & purple for custom maps). The Best dedicated servers I've found running UDK are "Chivalry: Medieval Warfare" by Torn Banner and "Red Orchestra 2" by Tripwire.
Our group only has ~4,000 members and that pales in comparison to friends groups of more than 100,000. I'm friends with community managers of groups which are drastically larger than our own and they (nor we) won't play a game or recommend it without dedicated servers.
Thanks again, it's good to hear these great suggestions! Dedicated server installs with "SteamCMD" running on Windows servers (2008/2012) are a must for community growth and retension. We absolutely haven't lost focus of multiplayer, we think it's an important game mode for most players and we have personally found a lot of enjoyment in testing it. This is because there are currently not enough players around, the game isn't out yet. The current streams and videos showing multiplayer tend to be lacking and empty. We have been running tests with servers to see what will be required at launch. We have been focusing on multiplayer heavily. Some excellent suggestions here and great insight that we'll take into consideration for updates! There are a few limitations surrounding some elements of the game like AI since this is the UDK but we can always look to improvements.
Might be a good idea to capitalize on that.īut that's only my opinion, what's Yours ? Feedback of my.feedback. Good looking, cheap and action packed mutliplayer games get a lot of attention nowadays. should focus on creating more multiplayer maps (I've heard there are currently two of them), rebalancing and adding some weaponry, creating some type of stats tracker and/or a clan system (so that there's a possibility of clan wars). They will draw more players and give the game longevity, since as I mentioned the graphics, music and gunplay are at enjoyable level. Dedicated servers are a must at this point. Lets face it, the campaign is short and not really replayable that much. is doing right now is not focusing on the multiplayer. My take on the subject (+ideas) - Imho the worst thing E.T.A. They don't retreat when fired upon and rarely use cover. If caught in the open field, the enemy doesn't regroup, they sidestep. The AI- It's not braindead, but could be better. Overall the campaing is short, marketed as 4-5 hours to finish, though already there are gameplays, which finish it in a little over 2 hours.
We're playing as a somewhat fresh and confused rookie under the command of always whining, know-it-all badass, who makes You feel like Ramirez from CoD: MW2. New titles can easily forge new iconic heros, that define the franchise (Duke Nukem, Master Chief). The choise of a protagonist is also a bit weird. Imho the pace is a bit slow for an fps game. The Campaign- It's ok, not good, not bad, ok. Moving on to things, that in my opinion, are average: I do however agree, that assault weapons should be rebalanced, since they are very similar, and few more weapons should appear in the game in the future (perhaps something with lazers or plasma to contrast the current weaponry) Personally I like the idea of an long range assault rifle, without them everything outside of a shotgun range would have been taken out with a sniper rifle (imagine the deathmathes).
Some reviewers bash high accuracy and low recoil of weapons, forgetting, that there are games, where it works just fine (Unreal series being an example). The Gunplay- There are different opinions around that, mostly because of a personal preferrence. Music- Though there are very few people, that have heard the soundtrack entirely, the bits I've heard are nice and fit the action on screen well. Graphics + Artstyle - Many new sci-fi titles have a weird tendency of not settling on the final concept of the game, therefore it looks like it was done by multiple people with different visions, glad E.T.A. Lets dive right in and start with what I like about the game so far:
Though my knowledge comes from extensive research on other people's gameplays/rewiews and posts off the forum, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Please bear in mind, that I don't own the game yet and that only the creators of the game know how the big picture of the game will look like. I think It'll be a nice back-and-forth with the devs that'll lead to a broader view of the game's future. Armies, telling the devs what We like about the game so far, sharing potential ideas and giving feedback on what, in our opinion, should have been improved. Hello, seeing how the game creators are really active in the discussions on this forum, I figured I'll make an open-minded discussion, where everyone can share their take on E.T.
